Overview

Mekuri Realm ("the App") is developed by Lars Waldow. This privacy policy explains how data is handled when you use the App.

The short version: Campaign and Sandbox modes work entirely on your device — no data leaves it. The optional PvP mode transmits game data to a relay server for the duration of a match only; no personal data is stored beyond the match session.

Data Collection

The App does not collect personal information. Specifically:

  • No account creation or sign-in is required.
  • No personal data (email, location, etc.) is collected.
  • No analytics or tracking tools are used.

The optional PvP mode transmits the following data to a relay server in order to connect two players:

  • A randomly generated device identifier (UUID) that is not linked to your identity.
  • Your chosen in-game display name, rank, and avatar — as shown to your opponent during the match.
  • Your selected deck (card IDs, foil status, experience level) — required to play the match.
  • Your moves during the match (card placed, grid position).

This data is relayed directly to your opponent's device and is not stored after the match ends. The server discards all session data once both players disconnect.

Local Storage

The App stores your game progress (card collection, level progress, statistics, deck configurations, and settings) locally on your device using the browser's localStorage API. This data never leaves your device and is included in your platform's standard backup mechanism (iCloud on iOS, Google Auto-Backup on Android). PvP match results are also stored locally only and are never uploaded.

Third-Party Services

The PvP mode uses Cloudflare Workers as a relay infrastructure to connect two players. Cloudflare acts as a message relay only — it does not process, analyse, or store game data beyond the active WebSocket session. Cloudflare's own privacy policy applies to network-level data (e.g. IP addresses) as part of their standard infrastructure operation.

No advertising SDKs, analytics platforms, or other external services are used. Future features (such as leaderboards via Game Center or Google Play Games) will be described in an updated version of this policy before they take effect.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect personal data from children or any other users. The PvP mode transmits only in-game identifiers and game state; no age-specific data is collected.

Changes to This Policy

This privacy policy may be updated to reflect changes in the App's functionality. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly.
